Aiden Markram hits another fifty to help Lucknow Super Giants to narrow IPL victory

Proteas T20 captain Markram struck 66 from 45 balls, Ayush Badoni added 50 off 34 deliveries while Abdul Samad hit a blistering unbeaten 30 from 10 as the Super Giants posted a total of 180-5.

Markram then took 1-18 from his two overs with his only scalp that of 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who became the youngest ever player in the IPL.

Suryavanshi came into the contest in the second innings as an impact player and opened the batting with India international Yashasvi Jaiswal.

It was a dream start for the teenager as he smashed India seamer Shardul Thakur for a massive six off the first ball that he faced in the opening over.

Suryavanshi struck another two sixes and three fours to make his way to 34 from 20 deliveries while adding 85 in a partnership with Jaiswal (74) before being stumped in the ninth over off Markram's bowling.

The Royals had looked in complete of the run-chase but seamer Avesh Khan (3-37) defended nine runs in the final over to give the Super Giants a dramatic victory.
