Proteas fight hard until the death but Pakistan come out on top in first ODI
The Proteas fought to the bitter end but ultimately fell to a two-wicket defeat with two balls to spare against Pakistan in the first ODI in Faisalabad on Tuesday.

A statement from the Proteas camp said the 22-year-old hurt his shoulder in the third and final T20I in Lahore and he will now undergo rehabilitation ahead of Test series in India that starts on 14 November.
Brevis' injury depletes the Proteas line-up even further for the three ODI matches in Pakistan after most of the all-format players were rested after the Test series.
Matthew Breetzke will captain the team in the absence of Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram while Quinton de Kock will return to the ODI fold after reversing his international retirement.
De Kock has already been reintegrated into the T20I squad after playing the one-off game against Namibia last month and the recent three-match series in Pakistan.
The Proteas played to a 1-1 draw in the Test series in Pakistan but lost out in the T20Is after down to a 2-1 defeat.
They will embark on an all-format tour to India later month that will feature two Test matches, three ODIs and five T20Is.
