Bafana Bafana qualification raises the stakes in the PSL, Arthur Zwane warns

Zwane explained that while the hunger to impress national selectors will drive higher performances across the league, it could also make things tricky for club coaches as players push harder to stand out individually.

"It's important for all players to perform well because they want to be seen," said the AmaZulu mentor.

"That shows confidence, ambition, and a belief that they deserve a chance in the national team. It's a good thing because it means players are dreaming big and setting goals for themselves."

However, the former Kaizer Chiefs tactician also warned that this heightened focus on personal recognition could disrupt team dynamics.

"It's going to be difficult for all clubs this season. Every player now knows that national team coaches are watching, and that can create extra competition within the squad," he continued.

"As coaches, we'll need to manage that balance between individual motivation and collective effort."

Zwane added that while the World Cup spotlight will inspire South African footballers to reach new levels, success at both club and national level will depend on players maintaining discipline and teamwork.
