Benoit Badiashile joins Napoli on loan from Chelsea in bid to reignite his career
Napoli confirmed the 25-year-old centre-back's arrival on an initial loan deal that includes an option to make the transfer permanent.
Badiashile joined Chelsea from Monaco in January 2023 for a reported 37 million euros and made 71 appearances for the Premier League club, scoring twice.
However, injuries restricted him to only eight league appearances last season, and he will now hope for a fresh start under Napoli boss Massimiliano Allegri.
Napoli won the Serie A title in 2025 before finishing runners-up to Inter Milan last season. The club also changed managers during the summer, with Antonio Conte leaving and Allegri taking charge.
Badiashile was not involved in Napoli's 2-0 victory over Genoa on Saturday because his transfer registration had not been completed in time for him to be included in the squad.
Allegri instead started Rafa Marin and Amir Rrahmani at centre-back, while Kevin De Bruyne came off the bench to help Napoli secure all three points.
Badiashile will now wait for his opportunity to make his competitive debut as he begins the next chapter of his career in Italy.
