Brandon Truter lauds Chippa Chairman Siviwe Mpengesi following Stellies win

Goals from Harold Majadibodu (27') and Imraan Jones (83') secured the three points for the Chilli Boys side at the Danie Craven Stadium at the weekend.

The result saw the club move onto 11 points in seventh place, while Stellies are in eighth place with 10 points, from their opening nine matches.

Chairman Siviwe Mpengesi gave Truter and his team a vote of confidence ahead of the tie, and that made all the difference to the performance, explained the head coach.

"It was a difficult week for us and an enlightening one, the chairman visited us and he just reaffirmed his belief in the squad and belief in everybody," Truter said in the Sowetan.

"And that gave us a bit of confidence and from there the training was good and the preparations were well and the boys knew what they had to do against Stellenbosch.

"Thanks to their effort we were disciplined in defence; the guys worked their socks off for those results and the biggest obstacle for us now is how we will manage it."

"At Chippa there is a culture where we are trying to end the stigma that's around the media. The team is doing well at the moment and there's progress," Truter added.

Chippa are next in action against Kaizer Chiefs on November 28.
