MI batted first and set an imposing total of 215/7 thanks to 50s from the in-form Ryan Rickleton (58 off 32 balls) and Suryakumar Yadav (54 off 28 balls) as well as explosive cameos from Naman Dhir (25 off 11 balls) and Bosch (20 off 10 balls) down the order.
In response, the Super Giants were skittled for just 161 with Trent Boult (3/20) and Jasprit Bumrah (4/22) tearing through the order.
Bosch chipped in well with the ball two, bowling his full complement of four overs and going for just 26 runs while picking up the wicket of Ravi Bishnoi, who he clean-bowled.
The solid performance would have come as a major relief for Bosch, who sacrificed his relationship with the Pakistan Cricket Board to play in the IPL by withdrawing from his contract for this season to sign for the Mumbai Indians.
As a result, the PCB slapped Bosch with a one-year ban from the competition, so knowing he won't lose his place in the IPL any time soon will help him justify the decision.
Bosch admitted that he had not acted in the best of faith by switching leagues and has issued a full apology to the PCB and Peshawar Zalmi for his actions after receiving his ban.
"I deeply regret my decision … and offer my sincere apologies to the people of Pakistan, the fans of Peshawar Zalmi and the wider cricket community," Bosch said.
"I fully understand the disappointment caused by my actions ... but I am committed to learning from this experience and hope to return to the PSL in the future with renewed dedication and the trust of the fans."
