CSA T20 Challenge: Tuskers claim first win of the season after beating the Lions

Shekleton scored 56 off 37 balls, that included five fours and a six, but Parnell burst late on propelled the visitors to a total of 161-5 in their 20 overs.

Lions seamers Beyers Swanepoel (2-24) and Evan Jones (2-25) had initially limited the Tuskers to a below-par score with only the right-handed Shekleton getting the measure of the bowling attack.

Batting at number seven, Parnell blasted four sixes in only five balls to be 25 not out at the end of the innings as fast bowler Siya Plaatjie suffered the batting assault.

The Lions looked to be cruising to victory as Proteas duo Reeza Hendricks and Rassie Van Der Dussen added 59 for the second wicket after the early loss of opener Wandile Makwetu.

Van Der Dussen scored 44 off 30 balls while Hendricks struck 61 from 44 deliveries while Mitchell van Buuren added 38.

The Tuskers dismissed all three batters though with Parnell also starring with ball, finishing with figures of 2-29 in his four overs to give his team the win.
