Dave Rennie expects Cam Roigard and Will Jordan to be ready to face the Springboks

Dave Rennie expects Cam Roigard and Will Jordan to be ready to face the Springboks

Both players have missed every match of the tour so far as they recover from injuries sustained in the weeks leading up to New Zealand departing for South Africa.

However, with the first Test looming in just a week's time, Rennie revealed Roigard and Jordan have begun training again and should be ready in time to take on the Springboks.

"Will and Cam have come through a training session, so we are confident they will be fine. We just want them to have a full week of training," he said.

Damian McKenzie is also out injured and is a bit more of a long-shot for inclusion in the first Test.

"We are less confident about Damian, but there is still a good chance he will be available. We are expecting all three of them to be available," Rennie said.

The All Blacks have suffered injuries to key players during their warm-up games against the Stormers, Sharks and Bulls, with Caleb Clarke and Billy Proctor being sent home already, along with George Bell.

After a tough match against the Stormers, New Zealand have looked increasingly impressive with big wins over the Sharks and Bulls, even though they have been heavily rotating the side to manage workload and injury risk.

"This was certainly not our Test side this evening; there will be a number of changes," Rennie explained.

"We have played reasonably well on tour, and to put 50 points on a very good Bulls side is a positive.

"They were a team that was prepared to play, and they really took it to us, but we know we need to up the ante next weekend.

"The Springboks will come much harder at us, and we know we will be up against three, four, five times the quality."
