The 19-year-old joins the Egyptian side on a four-year contract and is set to be registered on the non-senior player list for the club this season.
He becomes the 11th new signing for the White Knights who are currently revamping their squad following underwhelming 2024/25 Egyptian Premier League and CAF Confederation Cup campaigns.
Ochieng has received two previous call ups to the senior national team, making the final squad for 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Burundi and Ivory Coast last year, but is yet to make his debut.
The teenager recently led Kenya at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations that was held in Egypt earlier this year, however, his team crashed out of a tough group phase which included Nigeria, Tunisia and finalists Morocco.
He had spent the last two seasons with Kenyan Premier League club Sofapaka FC before leaving the team at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Zamalek are set to return to action on Saturday against Masry in a league encounter.
