The success of last year's final at the Home of Cricket, which was won by South Africa, convinced the ICC to give England hosting rights for the showpiece game for the next three finals.
Lord's though received it's first demerit point from the ICC last month after producing a pitch that was rated "unsatisfactory" for England's Test against New Zealand.
"It's an honour to host the biggest games in cricket and it doesn't get much bigger than the ICC World Test Championship Final," Steve Elworthy, Surrey's chief executive, said.
Australia currently sit top of the WTC table t the halfway point with South Africa (second) and New Zealand (third) close behind, though all three teams have at least 10 more Test matches to play.

The 2027 ODI World Cup - to be co-hosted by South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia - will be played in a new structure consisting of 14 teams and includes a Super Series round before the group stages, and a new Super 7 before the semifinals.
