IPL: Sai Sudharsan heaps praise on Titans opening partner Shubman Gill

Ahead of their Indian Premier League clash against Chennai Super Kings, Sudharsan praised the contributions of skipper and opening partner Shubman Gill.

He also reflected on his form, mindset and overall development, explaining how he navigates difficult phases during a long IPL campaign.

He also stressed the importance of staying mentally fresh and highlighted adaptability as essential in the evolving demands of modern T20 cricket.

"So, I try to keep things as open as possible. If the game has gone well, yes, we can carry the confidence, but if it hasn't, we try to keep our minds as fresh as possible for the upcoming games," said Sudharsan, via JioStar.

"It's also important to understand how the game is evolving because T20 cricket changes very quickly. As batters, we have to be versatile enough to adjust to what the team or the situation demands. If we are able to execute that, I think that's the best thing."

His opening partnership with skipper Shubman Gill has been a defining feature of Gujarat Titans' success over the last three seasons, with the pair regularly providing strong starts.

They are widely regarded as one of the most reliable opening combinations in the IPL, with strong on-field chemistry between the two batters.

"Shubman is such a mastermind," added Sudharsan.

"He understands the game so well and is tactically very strong. It gives you a sense of freedom to do whatever you want because you know Shubman is there."
