IPL: Shubman Gill leads from the front as Gujarat Titans down Rajasthan Royals

After being sent in to bat at the toss, Gill struck 84 from 44 balls while opening partner Sai Sudharsan scored 55 as the Titans racked up a total of 229-4 in their 20 overs.

The opening pair put on a stand of 118 within 11 overs to lay a brilliant platform before Washington Sundar's late cameo of 37 off 20 deliveries put the proverbial icing on the cake.

The Royals were then blown away in the run-chase, faltering to 152 all out in 16.3 overs with spinner Rashid taking 4-33 in his four overs.

The top-score for the Royals was 38 by Ravindra Jadeja while teenager Vaibhav Sooryavanshi struck 36 from 16 balls but was undone by India seamer Mohammed Siraj.

Proteas paceman Kagiso Rabada was also among the better bowlers for the Titans with figures of 2-33 in three overs.

Gujarat move up to second in the IPL standings after their seventh win of the season while the Royals slip down to fifth.
