Jos Buttler set to miss remainder of IPL 2025

The former England captain has reportedly informed the Titans that he won't be a part of IPL 2025 when it restarts due to his inclusion in the national team squad for the T20I and ODI series against West Indies.

According to reports, the IPL team is set to name Sri Lanka's Kusal Mendis as his temporary replacement, with an official announcement expected soon.

The 30-year-old Mendis was recently part of the Quetta Gladiators team that competes in Pakistan Super League (PSL 10), where he boasted a strike rate of 168.24 before the tournament was also suspended.

Gujarat Titans are currently leading the IPL 2025 standings, needing only one more win to book their playoffs spot, with Buttler currently the third highest run scorer in the team.

The 34-year-old has scored 500 runs in the IPL tournament this year at an average of 71.43 and a strike rate of 163.93.

The IPL 2025 will resume on May 17, with the final set to be played on June 3.
