The former Australia mentor has been heavily linked with the vacant post since Brendon McCullum was relieved of his duties of with England's red-ball side earlier this month.
England's managing director Rob Key has reportedly been in contact with several candidates for the position, but not yet with Langer.
When asked if he had been contacted by anyone at the ECB, Langer said on the Stick to Cricket podcast: "No, I haven't, no. I haven't heard from anyone. You read all this (speculation)... It's all paper talk, it's all rumours."
Andy Flower appeared to be the favourite to take over from McCullum but ruled himself out of contention as he remains committed to his positions with IPL side Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Hundred outfit London Spirit.
Langer did suggest that he would consider the England post of approached even though he had many battles with as an Australia player and coach against their arch-rivals.
"There's three coaching roles in the world as a coach (that anyone would consider)," Langer said. "The Australia head coach, the Indian head coach, and the England head coach.
"But it's all hypothetical, isn't it?. When it comes to coaching, it's a career, and everyone looks at all opportunities, don't they?"
Cricket Australia is exploring new ways to strengthen its footprint in India, with chief executive Todd Greenberg suggesting the country could even host a Test match between Australia and England.
