Kyle Verreynne and David Bedingham hit centuries in English County Championship

Kyle Verreynne (Nottinghamshire)

The Proteas Test wicketkeeper struck a match-saving 115 in the second innings to help Nottinghamshire walk away with a draw in their home clash against Warwickshire at Trent Bridge.

The visitors had piled on 459 in in the first innings of the contest before Notts were bowled for just 279, with Verreynne contributing 32.

Forced to follow-on facing a deficit of 180, the home team batted out for a mammoth 537-7 with Verreynne's runs coming off 243 balls and followed his captain and opener Haseeb Hameed, who also struck 115.

David Bedingham (Durham)

Bedingham scored a masterful unbeaten 129 from just 151 deliveries to help his county side defeat visitors Lancashire by eight wicket at Chester-le-Street.

Batting first in the contest, Lancashire were bowled out for 370, to which Durham replied with 295 with Bedingham scoring 17.

The visitors then declared their second innings on 260-9 to set the home team a target of 336 on the final day.

After being reduced to 46-2, Bedingham and Emilio Gay (159 not out) combined for a Durham record-breaking third-wicket partnership of 290 to give the hosts a fine victory.

Simon Harmer (Essex)

Harmer contributed with bat and ball as Essex and hosts Surrey played out a high-scoring draw at the Oval.

Batting first, the visitors piled on 409 in the first innings with Harmer scoring 41 while former Proteas skipper Dean Elgar got 92.

Surrey then replied with 472 all out with off-spinner Harmer being the pick of the Essex bowling attack with figures of 3-69 in 25.3 overs.

The visitors then batted out the final day to be 302-2 , Elgar getting 107 , before the teams shook hands for a draw.
