Litton Das: The whole of Bangladesh is now uncertain about T20 World Cup

Litton Das: The whole of Bangladesh is now uncertain about T20 World Cup

The Bangladesh government and the country's cricket board insists they will not send a team to India and instead want their fixtures played in co-hosing country Sri Lanka.

As things stand, all Bangladesh's group stage matches is scheduled to be played in India with the global tournament set to start on 7 February.

Speaking after a Bangladesh Premier League game, Litton said: "If we had known who our group opponents were (in the World Cup) or which country we were going to, that would have helped.

"You have seen that we have announced the squad, but until now, no player knows which country we are going to or whom we will play against. Like me, the whole of Bangladesh is now uncertain.

"Are you sure that we are going to the World Cup? In reality, there is still a long time left before the World Cup, and we are not even sure whether we will go or not."

The impasse started when the BCCI instructed IPL side Kolkata Knight Riders to remove Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman from their squad, will no official reason given.

The Bangladesh government then banned the broadcast of the IPL in the country and the cricket board said they wanted their T20 World Cup fixtures moved.
