Pakistan skipper Salman Agha eager to take on West Indies in T20I series

The series begins on Thursday, 31 July, with the opening match scheduled for 8pm local time. The second and third matches will follow on 2 and 3 August respectively, also beginning at 8pm local time.

This series marks the teams' first T20I meeting since December 2021. Pakistan lead the head-to-head record comfortably, having won 15 of the 21 matches played. West Indies have managed just three victories, while three encounters ended with no result.

"We are really looking forward to playing at this wonderful venue and our time here so far has been exciting. I feel the three T20Is will also be entertaining and as a team we are eagerly looking forward to take the field," said Pakistan T20I captain Salman Ali Agha.

"We have a fine blend of youth and experience in our squad and it is highly productive that we are going into yet another T20I series as the build-up towards the T20 World Cup picks up pace.

"The West Indies are a formidable T20I side despite the results not going their way recently and I feel we'll have to play our best possible game in order to outfox them in this series."

The venue, Central Broward Park, has hosted 17 T20Is and 12 ODIs since May 2010. Pakistan return here for only the second time, having recently edged out Ireland by three wickets during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Pakistan arrived in Lauderhill on Monday, 28 July, and have since conducted two intensive training sessions in preparation. The squad has been bolstered by the return of pace trio Haris Rauf, Hasan Ali, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

Both sides are looking to bounce back from recent disappointments. Pakistan lost their last T20I series 2-1 to Bangladesh, while West Indies endured a 5-0 whitewash at the hands of Australia.
