Resilient Glasgow Warriors battle past Bulls to secure home URC victory

The hosts got off to a dream start, dominating the opening exchanges and turning early pressure into points when Sione Tuipulotu powered over the line. Adam Hastings converted to make it 7-0.

The Bulls, however, hit back through winger Stravino Jacobs, who finished off a brilliant move sparked by Sebastian de Klerk's break down the right flank. Keagan Johannes' conversion attempt sailed wide, leaving the Warriors 7-5 ahead after a lively opening 15 minutes.

Glasgow continued to control possession for much of the first half, forcing the Bulls to defend for long stretches, but the visitors' pack held firm, as the Warriors went into half-time with a slender two-point advantage.

The Bulls came out with renewed purpose after the restart. Veteran fullback Willie le Roux read the game superbly, finding space off Nortje's offload to go in under the posts for a well-worked try in the 49th minute. Johannes slotted the conversion, giving the visitors their first lead at 12-7.

But the momentum swung back towards the Warriors after replacement prop Nathan McBeth was shown a yellow card. Their maul forced sustained pressure inside the Bulls' 22, and when Francois Klopper was sent to the bin for repeated infringements, referee Craig Evans awarded a penalty try that swung the score back to 14-12 in Glasgow's favour.

McBeth quickly redeemed himself upon his return to the field, crashing over for a decisive try in the 70th minute after a powerful drive from the Glasgow pack. Hastings converted once again, extending the lead to 21-12 and leaving the Bulls chasing the game.

The hosts closed out the final minutes with control, pinning the Bulls deep in their own half and drawing another penalty to seal a hard-fought win.
