Run-machine Lhuan-dre Pretorius earns maiden T20 century in Major League Cricket

Pretorius dominated the New York bowlers in the chase, putting together an unbeaten 102 off 52 balls. The 20-year-old finished in style to reach the milestone, flicking a four to wrap up the race to 144. The victory put the Unicorns at the top of the table.

As per usual, the South African dealt in boundaries. He crunched ten fours and five sixes in the superlative knock, which put him firmly at the top of the MLC run-scoring list with 415.

Pretorius has been in sublime form in the short format in the US. Explosive innings of 87 off just 39 balls, 69 not out (55), 66 (26) and 58 (28) have contributed to his 69.19 average at an impressive strike rate of 182.

This is coming off the back of a strong SA 'A' tour against the England Lions, where he scored 181 runs across two ODIs, including an undefeated 116.

The wicketkeeper-batter last featured for the Proteas in their T20I victory over the West Indies in Paarl in January and this run of form will keep him foremost in the selectors' minds going forward.
