Atletico manager Simeone issues apology to Lookman after Villarreal draw
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone revealed that he apologized to Nigeria star Ademola Lookman for playing him out of position in the 2-2 draw against Villarreal on Sunday.

According to transfer reporter Ekrem Konur, as reported by Afrik-Foot, Barcelona sporting director Deco has not abandoned the idea of signing Osimhen and could consider the Nigerian striker a more attainable option if their attempts to land Alvarez fail.
Alvarez has been Barcelona's preferred target for much of the summer, but Atletico Madrid have remained firm in their stance that the Argentina international is not for sale.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta previously confirmed that the Catalan giants had submitted a firm offer for Alvarez, only for Atletico to reject it. Coach Diego Simeone subsequently reiterated earlier this month that the Madrid club had made its decision over the forward's future.
With the transfer window closing on September 1, Barcelona now face a crucial decision over whether to continue pursuing Alvarez or move quickly for an alternative.
Osimhen has emerged as a strong candidate.
The 27-year-old enjoyed a prolific campaign with Galatasaray last season, scoring 22 goals and registering eight assists in 33 appearances. He also scored seven times in the Champions League, underlining his ability to deliver at the highest level.
His arrival could help fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski, who departed Barcelona after scoring 120 goals during his four seasons at the club.
However, Osimhen would still represent a major financial investment. Galatasaray are reportedly seeking around €150 million for their star striker, meaning Barcelona would need to make a substantial commitment to bring him to Camp Nou.
The Nigerian's availability could also attract competition, with Arsenal reportedly among the clubs interested in securing his services.
For Deco, the choice is becoming increasingly clear: continue waiting for Atletico to change their position on Alvarez or move decisively for Osimhen before the transfer window closes.
With time running out, Barcelona's next move could have a major influence on their attacking options for the new season.
