Western Province defend domestic T20 women's title after victory at Newlands

Having already established an unassailable lead at the top of the standings, Western Province went into their final contest with freedom to express themselves.

A stellar knock from Proteas all-rounder Nadine de Klerk (74), supported by an unbeaten 36 from Kayla Reyneke, propelled the hosts to a competitive total of 142-8.

Reyneke then delivered an all-round performance, returning impressive figures of 4-10 to help dismiss the Dolphins for just 94.

As champions, Western Province were also presented with the new Hollywoodbets Pro20 Trophy.

Crafted from glass and brass, the trophy embodies both elegance and resilience. Its transparent glass structure symbolizes clarity and precision, while the brass elements reflect the sophistication and intensity of T20 cricket.

Meanwhile, the Jukskei Derby saw the Lions take on the Fidelity Titans at the Wanderers Stadium in a closely contested encounter.

Opting to bat first, Proteas Women's stars Anneke Bosch (79*) and Sune Luus (51) steered the Titans to a total of 149-9 in their allotted 20 overs.

A disciplined bowling display from the visitors then restricted the Lions to 137/6, securing a hard-fought 12-run victory against the reigning Hollywoodbets Pro50 champions.

In Bloemfontein, the Garden Route Badgers secured a narrow two-wicket win against the Knights at the Mangaung Oval.

Yolandi Potgieter led the charge for the Knights with a crucial knock, guiding the hosts to 117/8. But, a determined batting effort from the Badgers saw them chase down the target with three balls to spare.

With the second season of the professional league concluded, it remains a crucial platform for nurturing the country's finest talent and elevating the women's game to new heights.
