Newcastle forward Yoane Wissa misses out on DR Congo's 2025 AFCON squad
Newcastle United have received an unexpected boost after Yoane Wissa was omitted from the DR Congo squad for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, which begins on 21 December.

Sarr was substituted in the 38th minute of the Premier League fixture after struggling to recover from an earlier strong challenge by United's Diogo Dalot.
The Eagles manager Oliver Glasner has admitted that his attacker could miss out on Premier League action until after the 2025 African Cup of Nations that begins on December 21.
"We have to assess him further, but the ankle is quite swollen," said Glasner to reporters after the match.
"He'll miss a few games. Maybe the whole time until he goes to AFCON."
The defeat against United was the first loss at Selhurst Park in a league match since February.
Palace currently occupy ninth position on the table and are set to face Burnley on Wednesday and Fulham this Saturday.
Meanwhile, Senegal will be hopeful the 27-year-old will recover in time for the African showpiece in Morocco as they attempt to win their second AFCON title.
