Romain Folz sacked by Tanzanian giants Young Africans
Romain Folz has found himself without a club after being fired by Tanzanian giants Young Africans.

The official unveiling took place this week at the club's headquarters in Dar es Salaam, putting an end to weeks of speculation. Folz takes over from Miloud Hamdi, who recently joined Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily, centralnews.co.za reported.
At just 35 years old, Folz holds a UEFA Pro Licence and brings with him a growing reputation across the African continent. His arrival signals Yanga's intent to build on their domestic dominance and mount a serious challenge in the CAF Champions League during the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
Yanga enjoyed a clean sweep of silverware in the 2024/25 season—clinching the Tanzanian Premier League title and the Community Shield. Now, the club is turning its focus toward continental success, with the Champions League semi-finals set as a key target under Folz's leadership.
According to sources close to the club, Folz signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for a third. He was selected ahead of several high-profile candidates, including Rulani Mokwena, who has since joined MC Alger, and ASEC Mimosas coach Julien Chevalier.
Yanga president Hersi Ally Said reportedly received a glowing recommendation from FIFA's Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger, who previously worked with Folz during the FIFA High Performance Development programme.
In his first address as head coach, Folz expressed his ambition to elevate the club to new heights.
"I'm honoured to lead Yanga. This is a club with a rich history and passionate fans. Our goal is to maintain our domestic success and make a serious impact on the continental stage with a high-energy, attacking style of play," he said.
