Asanele Velebayi's confidence 'slowly building' at Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs winger Asanele Velebayi says his early months at the club have been a steady, game-by-game learning process as he finds his feet in the top flight.

Chiefs were held to a goalless draw by Chippa United at the New Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday, missing the chance to climb to third on the Betway Premiership table. The result left them fifth on 23 points after 12 matches, while Chippa remain anchored at the bottom on nine points after 15 games.
Despite creating several chances against Chippa, Chiefs failed to convert, something Youssef says the team is determined to correct in order to end the year on a high with the CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) break coming up.
“For us, I think we have no excuse. We had a lot of opportunities, and now we spend a lot of time in the last third but don’t score. That’s the big problem,” he said.
“When you get a six-metre one-on-one chance and don’t score, that’s football. We have to continue to work and correct the same problem.”
Youssef outlined the approach the coaching staff is taking to improve the team’s attacking efficiency. “As coaches, we continue with individual work. Our job is to fix mistakes, and it’s up to the players to find the right solutions,” he said.
“We want to improve decision-making in the last third and be more effective in front of goal.”
Looking ahead to the game against TS Galaxy, Youssef is confident the lessons from recent matches will help Chiefs turn their chances into goals.
“We are focused, working hard, and determined to improve. We need to convert our opportunities and get back to winning ways,” he concluded.
Chiefs will hope that their attacking struggles are behind them as they travel to Mbombela aiming to climb the Premiership standings, while Galaxy will be hoping to record their second victory in three league games.
The Rockets are in eighth place on the league standings with 20 points from 13 matches.
