Under-pressure Man Utd goalkeeper Altay Bayindir eager to prove himself

Under-pressure Man Utd goalkeeper Altay Bayindir eager to prove himself

The Turkey international, who has started every Premier League match so far, admitted he has not always convinced - particularly at set-pieces - but remains confident he can show his best form by maintaining the right mentality and working hard in training.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with United Review, the official matchday programme ahead of Saturday's clash with Sunderland, Bayindir outlined his belief that competition within the squad will bring the best out of him.

Bayindir's position has come under further scrutiny following Andre Onana's Carabao Cup outing in the shock defeat to Grimsby Town.

Onana has since departed on loan to Trabzonspor, while United moved to strengthen their goalkeeping options with the arrival of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp.

"Many years, I did this job," Bayindir told United Review. "I am giving myself respect, I am proud of myself.

"I know what I have to do and will continue which way I believe in. I did not come here easily. I did many things, many games, many good performances. I know who I am.

"I know what I can do and I can't wait to show more things to everyone.”
