Davis Riley takes two-shot lead into final round of wind-swept Sony Open
A late surge on the back nine saw Davis Riley earn a two-stroke lead after the third round of the PGA Tour's season-opening Sony Open.

The American had a little help from the floundering Davis Riley, but ultimately his superlative final round of six under 64 around Waialae Country Club saw him pull away from Ryan Gerard and Patrick Rodgers, who finished solo second and third, respectively.
A year ago, Gotterup missed the cut at the event. And as much as Sunday was about his redemption story, it was also about Riley's fall from grace.
Riley was two strokes ahead at the start of the final round and looked in great shape to lift the trophy after two birdies in his opening five holes. But a disastrous three-hole stretch saw him drop four shots and slump to a closing 71, five shots off Gotterup.
"I just felt like this week I was in a good frame of mind, just happy to be here," Gotterup told the press.
"I felt like I was in control of my brain, which is the most important thing. I drove it great and made some putts when it mattered.
"It was anyone's tournament. Then I made a couple nice putts and I saw a couple people drop back. I know Ryan played a great tournament and he tried to make a run at the end. Couple other guys played great and I just held them off."
Meanwhile Rodgers - who has nine top-three finishes since 2015 without a tour a PGA Tour win - lamented his ice-cold putter.
"Unfortunately, didn't have a hot putter today," he quipped.
