Tiger Woods all smiles at Pebble Beach as comeback speculation grows

Woods was at the iconic California venue for his latest TGR Jr Invitational, which saw 60 young golfers compete on the famous course.

Following the tournament, the 15-time major champion took to the stage to answer questions from the audience, discussing a range of topics with the junior golfers and celebrating a hole-in-one recorded during the day's play.

Woods looked healthy as he made another rare public outing amid an extended spell away from competitive golf.

The 49-year-old has endured a difficult period, undergoing rehabilitation following a car accident in March that resulted in a five-year driving ban. He is also continuing his recovery from Achilles and back surgery in 2025.

Woods returned to a driving range earlier this summer at a charity event, where he was filmed hitting golf balls in footage that quickly circulated among fans.

"I can hit pretty much anything," Woods said in the clips, sparking renewed interest in his potential return to the course.

Woods' presence at the event and upbeat demeanour will offer encouragement to those hoping to see him compete again.

He has not played a professional tournament since missing the cut at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon, with his recovery from multiple injuries and subsequent surgeries keeping him sidelined.
