The 15-time Major champion recently revealed he underwent an operation to repair a collapsed disc, but has yet to outline any timeline for a return to competitive golf.
Although fans may have to wait longer to see him back on course, Woods will remain a visible presence once the new TGL season kicks off in January. He has pledged to be at the SoFi Center for each of Jupiter Links' fixtures.
The second TGL season opens on December 28 with New York facing defending champions Atlanta Drive, followed by Rory McIlroy's Boston Common taking on Los Angeles GC on January 2. Jupiter Links begin their season later in the month.
Responding to a social media message from his team wishing him a speedy recovery, Woods replied: "I'll be there for every match! Looking forward to seeing everyone on January 13th for our home opener."
Woods will be on the sidelines this time, supporting teammates Tom Kim, Max Homa and Kevin Kisner. With only three active players per match, Jupiter Links will likely need an additional signing to fill his spot on the roster.
Before his latest setback, Woods had taken part in four matches of the tech-driven indoor golf league last season and was expected to feature regularly this year.
Explaining his decision to undergo the procedure, Woods said: "After experiencing pain and lack of mobility in my back, I consulted with doctors and surgeons to have tests taken. The scans determined that I had a collapsed disc in L4/5, disc fragments and a compromised spinal canal. I opted to have my disc replaced yesterday, and I already know I made a good decision for my health and my back."
