South Africa U19 star Jason Rowles bought for big money at SA20 auction
South Africa U19 batter Jason Rowles was the biggest buy at the SA20 mini-auction held on Wednesday, the teenager being sold to Joburg Kings for R2.9milllion.

The 36-year-old last featured in the tournament during the 2024 edition for the Sunrisers Eastern Cape before being among seven players released by the franchise ahead of the 2025 edition.
Bavuma was then surprisingly left unsold at the next auction, admitting afterwards that it was 'unusual' for the captain of South Africa's T20 team [at the time] to be excluded from the nations T20 franchise league.
He is set to join fellow Proteas Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Dewald Brevis and Rassie van der Dussen in the Capitals side who are looking to claim their first SA20 title after losing the last final against the Sunrisers.
According to reports, the Pretoria franchise had a 'modest' R1.5 million budget for the recent auction, with van der Dussen being their most expensive acquisition for a R500 000 fee.
Bavuma's new side will kick-off next seasons tournament with a clash against his former team and defending champions Sunrisers at St. George's Park on January 17.
