Big wins for relegation threatened Chippa, Magesi and Richards Bay on Tuesday

Sinoxolo Kwayiba scored the only goal of the game in the 55th minute to secure all three points.

The result saw the Chilli Boys move onto 20 points from 23 games - two clear of Orbit College in the relegation/promotion play-off place and three clear of bottom side Magesi.

Chippa were the stronger team from off with Justice Figareido testing Ricardo Goss with a rasping effort early on.

Yanda Mfolozi was just wide of the mark for Siwelele in what was their best chance of the first half, while Relebogile Mokhuoane saw his second-half header well saved by Dumisani Msibi.

Chippa may have had a second, but Goss saved well from Malebogo Modise as Chibuike Ohizu powered a potential late equaliser wide of the mark.

Tshepo Mashigo, Motsie Matima and Thabang Sibanyoni were all on target in a convincing display from bottom team Magesi in a 3-0 win over Marumo Gallants.

Magesi remain rooted to the foot of the standings, but now within just one point of 15th-placed Orbit College.

Gallants may have taken an early lead but Washington Arubi was equal to a Christopher Sithole's effort.

Mashigo fired in the opener midway through the opening half and came close to a second when a header by Mashigo sailed inches wide of the net.

Matima came on for the injured Samuel Darpoh and headed home a good Mcedisi Vandala delivery.

Substitute Sibanyoni was then left with an easy finish in stoppage time at the end of the match.

Gallants ended the evening in 14th place with 18 points from 23 matches played.

Richards Bay also recorded an important Betway Premiership after defeating Stellenbosch 2-1 in their game on Tuesday.

Former Stellies winger Sanele Barns opened the scoring with a tap-in after just seven minutes.

Stellenbosch were level through Genino Palace just minutes later, but were on the back foot again when Moses Mthembu scored from the spot after Sbangani Zulu was upended by Tshegofatso Mabasa.

The Natal Rich Boyz find themselves in 11th with 23 points from 22 games and Stellies in ninth place with 28 points.
