Blow for Delhi Captals as Mitchell Starc opts against returning to IPL

The T20 franchise tournament was put on hold for one week due to the political and violent conflict between India and Pakistan.

The competition resumed on Saturday with 12 league games still remaining before the payoffs, while final will take now place on 3 June.

The IPL will now lose several overseas stars for the remainder of the event as players have commitments with their national team.

Starc is Delhi's highest wicket-taker so far in the 2025 IPL season with 14 wickets in 11 matches at 26.14.

South Africa's players involved in the World Test Championship final against Australia next month will finish the league phase before returning home on 27 May.
