Jordan Henderson says he is 'very excited to get going' after sealing a move to Chelsea on a free transfer, following his exit from Brentford.
Chelsea strengthen midfield with Valentin Barco signing from Strasbourg
The 21-year-old is expected to link up with head coach Xabi Alonso and his new teammates later in pre-season as Chelsea continue their preparations for the new campaign.
Barco began his career at Boca Juniors, making his first-team debut at the age of 16 after progressing through the club's academy. He moved to Brighton in 2024 before spending time on loan with Sevilla and Strasbourg.
His performances in France convinced Strasbourg to sign him permanently, and Barco played a key role in helping the club qualify for European competition last season. He scored and created 12 goals in 43 appearances across all competitions.
His impressive form also earned him a place in Argentina's squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. He has made five appearances for the reigning world champions.
Chelsea reportedly paid around 34 million pounds to bring Barco back to England, where he believes he is now better prepared for the demands of the Premier League.
"I've kind of changed since I was last here in England," Barco said after completing the move.
"I feel like I grew up as a player. That's normal with age. I'm more prepared for the Premier League."
