England captain Jos Buttler determined to bounce back from T20 World Cup struggles
Despite a disappointing campaign at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, Jos Buttler has made it clear he has no intention of stepping away from international cricket.

Gill, currently India's Test and ODI captain, was left out of the T20 World Cup squad due to concerns over his form, with selectors opting for Sanju Samson and Ishan Kishan. Both players justified that decision by playing key roles in India's title-winning run.
Despite the setback, Pujara is confident Gill has the quality to force his way back into the T20 side, identifying the 2026 Indian Premier League as a crucial opportunity. He believes the tournament can serve as a platform for Gill to respond to the pressure of his omission and re-establish himself in the format.
A major focus, according to Pujara, should be on improving Gill's scoring rate and ability to accelerate, areas that have drawn scrutiny in recent times. Enhancing his strike rate could prove decisive in regaining national selection.
"The T20 World Cup squad snub will definitely fire up Shubman Gill. He is a quality player suited for all three formats. If he has a good IPL 2026 season, he will surely put his name in India's T20I squad. He is leading the Test squad and is also the ODI captain," Pujara said while speaking on JioHotstar.
"He is a multi-format player. If he has a good season, he will be back in the scheme of things for the Indian team.
"There will be some pressure on him because he has not been part of the India squad in the shortest format. But at the same time, it is a great opportunity for him to carry on batting the way he has.
"He needs to try and accelerate a little more because that is something he has been working on. This IPL season is the perfect one for him to show he can bat at a strike rate of 150 to 160."
Gill will lead the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2026, beginning their campaign against Punjab Kings on March 31 at the New Punjab Cricket Association Stadium.
