Mohamed Salah speaks after Egypt triumph
Egypt captain Mohamed Salah has spoken out following his side's controversial 1-0 victory over Bafana Bafana at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.

Competing in only their second continental finals, the Coelacanths are eager to show that their breakthrough four years ago was no fluke, but the result of sustained work, ambition, and a clear footballing identity under head coach Stefano Cusin.
Despite opening their campaign with a 2-0 defeat to hosts Morocco, Comoros displayed discipline, courage, and tactical maturity.
Well organised and committed, they matched one of the tournament favourites for long stretches, giving the squad confidence ahead of the crucial clash with Zambia.
With qualification hopes finely balanced, a victory against Zambia would not only keep their knockout stage ambitions alive but also echo the resilience that carried them through the group stage in Cameroon 2021.
Cusin has highlighted both the difficulty and importance of the game while expressing confidence in his players.
"The match against Zambia will be extremely important. We are facing a team with high-quality attackers. We have prepared well, and our approach will be adapted to the way our opponents play," he was quoted on the CAF website.
"The key is that the players are fully prepared. We know Zambia are strong, but we are determined to succeed," he added.
Comoros will again rely on defensive organisation, quick transitions, and collective discipline to disrupt Zambia and secure a vital result.
What continues to define them is the fighting spirit that underpinned their maiden AFCON appearance, a determination evident in players who believe they can write another chapter in their nation’s football history.
As Morocco 2025 unfolds, Comoros hope the magic of Cameroon 2021 can inspire another memorable run on Africa’s biggest football stage.
