David Miller returns to Proteas T20I squad for series against England

The 36-year-old missed the recent series in Australia as was participating in the Hundred tournament in the UK.

There is also a recall to the T20I set-up for big-hitting batter Ferreira for the first time since the series against Pakistan in December 2024.

Marco Jansen and Lizaad Williams have recovered from injuries and has been included for the T20I leg of the tour that will start with a three-match ODI series.

Proteas head coach Shukri Conrad said: "David's return for the T20Is adds another dimension to our lineup, and he is eager to get going.

"Donovan has done particularly well in the leagues he’s played in. We know how destructive he can be at the end of an innings, and with his experience in The Hundred and playing in English conditions, it's the perfect time for him to rejoin the national squad."

George Linde has been dropped from the T20 squad that did duty in Australia with veteran spinner Keshav Maharaj included along with all-rounder Senuran Muthusamy.

Conrad added: "We were experimenting with the spinning all-rounders in our most recent T20I series, and Keshav was always part of our broader plans.

"His return to the squad strengthens our spin options. Beyond his obvious skill with the ball, he brings calmness and leadership to the group."

The ODI squad remains unchanged from the series in Australia that the Proteas won with a game to spare.

The ODI series against England starts on 2 September in Leeds with the T20I leg beginning on 10 September in Cardiff.
