Dewald Brevis to link up with Chennai Super Kings for remainder of IPL campaign

The 21-year-old previously represented Mumbai Indians in the IPL in  2022 and 2024 but went unsold at the auction in November.

Brevis has played 81 T20s in his career and scored 1787 runs with a highest score of 162, while he represented the Proteas in two T20Is in 2023.

He helped MI Cape Town win their maiden SA20 trophy earlier this year, where he scored 230 runs in the tournament at a strike-rate of 184.

Brevis has also played in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and represents the MI franchise in Major League Cricket (MLC) in the USA.

The Super Kings are currently sitting at the bottom of the IPL points table with just two wins in seven games and earlier in the season had their regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out of the tournament with an elbow injury.
