Durban City, Golden Arrows bolster Betway Premiership standing with wins

Durban City 2-0 TS Galaxy

Durban City claimed a crucial 2-0 victory over TS Galaxy at Chatsworth Stadium in Durban in what had been billed as a vital six-pointer.

The sides began the evening separated by just one point, heightening the significance of the contest. After a tightly contested first half, Patrick Fisher broke the deadlock in the 65th minute when he put the ball in the back of his own net to give the hosts the lead.

Luphumlo Sifumba sealed the result with a second goal in the 86th minute to confirm another impressive home display.

The win maintained Durban City's strong form on their own turf and saw them leapfrog TS Galaxy into sixth place in the standings.

It also mirrored their previous meeting in August 2025, when they recorded an identical 2-0 scoreline. For Galaxy, the defeat extended their winless away run and dented their push up the table.

Magesi 0-2 Golden Arrows

Golden Arrows secured a valuable 2-0 away victory over Magesi at Seshego Stadium in Polokwane, boosting their mid-table position.

Known as Abafana Bes'thende, Arrows capitalised after Magesi were reduced to ten men in the 37th minute when Kgomotso Mosadi was sent off.

The breakthrough arrived immediately after the interval, with Junior Dion scoring in the 46th minute before doubling his tally just seven minutes later.

Magesi, the 2024 Carling Knockout champions, struggled to respond and their attacking woes persisted. Matters were evened numerically when Isaac Cisse received a red card for Arrows in the 61st minute, but the visitors held firm to see out the result.

The defeat leaves Magesi near the bottom of the table and entrenched in the relegation battle, while Golden Arrows gained valuable breathing room in mid-table.
