India captain Shubman Gill criticises England's unsportsmanlike tactics
India captain Shubman Gill believes England's behaviour during the third Test at Lord's was against the "spirit" of the game, as the hosts went on to win.
England lead the series 2–1 after a compelling set of matches, but India face a stern test at a venue where they have never won - four defeats and five draws in nine previous attempts.
Injuries have disrupted India's previously settled balance, particularly the loss of all-rounder Nitish Reddy to a knee injury.
Reddy, part of a trio of all-rounders alongside Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, gave India batting depth till number eight.
His likely replacement, Shardul Thakur, played in the series opener but offers less with the bat and must improve his bowling to cement his place.
India may return to the setup used in Leeds - just one spinner in Jadeja and a top six packed with specialist batters. Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan are in contention for places, with Nair hoping to turn promising starts into a significant score.
The fast-bowling department remains largely settled with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj leading the attack. However, with Akash Deep recovering from a groin injury, uncapped Anshul Kamboj - who impressed in outdoor training - and Prasidh Krishna are under consideration.
India's batting collapsed at Lord's, but KL Rahul continues to shine, looking the most assured across six innings.
Shubman Gill remains the top run-scorer despite a dip in the third Test, while Yashasvi Jaiswal must find a response to Jofra Archer's pace.
Rishabh Pant is fit again and will resume wicketkeeping duties, while Jadeja, with four successive fifties, is expected to play a key all-round role.
