IPL: David Miller the hero as Delhi Capitals beat RCB, Sunrisers down Super Kings

Chasing 176, DC looked in trouble at 18/3 after Bhuvneshwar Kumar's early burst, but KL Rahul (57) and Tristan Stubbs (60*) rebuilt the innings. The game swung back RCB's way in the middle overs before Miller took charge, smashing two sixes and a four off Romario Shepherd in the final over to seal victory.

RCB had earlier posted 175/8, with England's Phil Salt leading the way with 63 off 38 balls as they raced to 99/2 after 10 overs. However, Delhi fought back through the middle period, with Lungi Ngidi, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel all picking up two wickets to keep the total in check.

RCB then tightened their grip during the chase, conceding just 22 runs between overs 13 and 17, but were left exposed at the death after using up their frontline bowlers early - a gamble Miller ultimately punished.

In the second match on Saturday, Sunrisers Hyderabad claimed a 10-run victory over Chennai Super Kings after successfully defending   194.

The Sunrisers' total was spearheaded by Abhishek Sharma and Proteas star Heinrich Klaasen, who each scored 59, opener Sharma taking just 22 to reach the mark to get his side off to a fast start. Fellow opener Tristan Head also hung around for a while, making 23, before Klaasen anchored the remainder of the innings.

Anshul Kamboj's 3/22 was the best performance amongst the Super Kings bowlers, while Jamie Overton also bagged three wickets for 37 runs.

In reply, the Super Kings looked for some time as if they were going to match the target, with Ayush Mhatre (30), Matthew Short (34) and Sarfaraz Khan (25) all making solid contributions in the top order, but wickets kept tumbling at regular intervals, and the pressure to maintain the required run rate gradually ramped up until the asking rate climbed beyond their reach, with the lower order unable to provide the late surge required as the chase ultimately fizzled out.

Eshan Malinga (3/18) was the pick of the bowlers for the Sunrisers, while Nitash Kumar Reddy (2/31) also made a valuable contribution.
