IPL: Sunrisers Hyderabad batting blitz overpowers Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Hyderabad

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, SRH got off to a flying start. Openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head set an aggressive tone, with Abhishek in particular looking dangerous. He smashed a rapid 56 off just 22 balls (4 fours, 5 sixes) before falling to Suyash Sharma.

Travis Head contributed a quick 26 off 16, but it was the middle-order partnership that truly defined the innings. Ishan Kishan played a superb anchor-cum-aggressor role, scoring 79 off 46 balls (8 fours, 3 sixes), while Heinrich Klaasen unleashed his signature power-hitting with a blistering 51 off 24 deliveries (2 fours, 5 sixes). Their 100-run stand off just 42 balls took the game away from RCB.

Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the perfect finishing touch, remaining unbeaten on 29 off 12 balls, including three sixes, as SRH crossed the 250-run mark with ease. Rasikh Salam was RCB's most successful bowler with 2/52, while Krunal Pandya picked up the important wicket of Klaasen.

In reply, RCB needed a near-impossible 12.8 runs per over and started brightly with Venkatesh Iyer smashing 44 off 19 balls. However, Eshan Malinga struck twice (2/33), removing both Venkatesh and Devdutt Padikkal at key moments. Virat Kohli could only manage 15 before falling to Sakib Hussain.

Rajat Patidar, RCB's captain, fought valiantly with a well-made 56 off 39 balls, and Krunal Pandya remained not out on 41 off 31, but they never quite threatened the target. Travis Head even chipped in with a wicket (1/7) in a rare bowling cameo, while Pat Cummins and Harshal Patel kept things tight in the death overs.

SRH's clinical performance with both bat and ball keeps their playoff hopes alive, while RCB will need to regroup quickly after this heavy defeat in a high-scoring affair typical of Hyderabad's batting-friendly conditions.
