Junior Khanye tips Dithejane for big move, wants Kaizer Chiefs reunion

Speaking to Soccer Laduma, Khanye said his admiration for Dithejane stretches back to the player’s formative years at the School of Excellence.

“Puso Dithejane is a School of Excellence product, and I know this very well because Given Silango worked with him as one of his coaches there,” Khanye said.

“The boy later went to Chiefs, but Chiefs allowed such a talent to leave.”

Khanye is adamant that Dithejane’s consistent performances for TS Galaxy have not gone unnoticed and feels a move to one of the traditional giants is inevitable.

“Between Sundowns and Pirates, one of those two clubs will sign the boy. But honestly, I would love to see him back at Chiefs,” he added.

The outspoken former winger went further, explaining how he believes Amakhosi could best utilise Dithejane should the club manage to bring him back to Naturena.

“That boy is my choice to partner Lebohang Maboe at Chiefs. Imagine Chiefs signing him and playing him as a number 10 or on the left wing, with Maboe — whom I call the big fish — operating as a defensive midfielder. You would see how well Chiefs could do.”

Khanye also defended Maboe’s positional flexibility, insisting doubts about his ability to play deeper were misplaced.

“Some people doubted that Maboe could play as a defensive midfielder, but I have always believed in him. What a player.”

Khanye’s comments come at a time when Dithejane’s stock continues to soar. Earlier this week, the PSL confirmed that the TS Galaxy standout was named Betway Premiership Player of the Month for November and December — his second such award this season.

With his form drawing increasing attention, Dithejane’s future is becoming a major talking point, and if Khanye has his way, a return to Naturena would be the ideal next chapter.
