Thabang Monare believes Sekhukhune United can challenge for league crown

Thabang Monare believes Sekhukhune United can challenge for league crown

Sekhukhune currently sit third on the league stanings with 25 points from 13 matches, just three points behind leaders Orlando Pirates.

The former Jomo Cosmos midfielder acknowledges that his side are genuine title contenders but cautions against looking too far ahead.

"For sure, we are in third position, so we are title contenders," Monare told KickOff.

"But as I always say, we are taking each game at a time. If you think too far ahead about winning the league, it can feel overstretched. The easiest way is to take it step by step. Your most important game is always the next one."

Monare also reflected on the current mid-season break, noting that it gives the squad a chance to reset and enjoy the December holidays without the pressure of immediate fixtures.

"The season is currently on a break, and teams will return looking different. We are a club that wants to improve, and by taking each game as it comes, we'll see how it goes," he added.
