The contest was effectively over after 30 minutes when the home team built up a 29-0 lead after scoring four tries with Henco van Wyk and Davids scoring two apiece and Chris Smith adding three conversions and a penalty.

The Lions were not done as SJ Kotze also joined the try scoring sheet with Smith adding the extras but Boland hit back with a five-pointer from a a rolling maul.

Davids completed his hat-track as the hosts went into the halftime break with a commanding 41-5 advantage on the scoreboard.

To compound matters for the visitors, they were reduced to 14 men soon after the interval when James Tedder was sent to the sin bin and a penalty try awarded.

Davids was enjoying a sensational match as he fielded a cross-kick from Smith before going over for his fourth try of the afternoon.

The team from the Cape Winelands did score a great try when Jayden Bantom chipped and collected his own ball to score but it was mere consolation effort.

Quan Horn and Renzo du Plessis added two more tries for the dominant home side to cap off a satisfying game in front of their supporters.
