Magesi boss Allan Freese confident of Betway Premiership survival

Dikwena tsa Meetse avoided automatic relegation on the final day of the 2025/26 league season with a 1-0 win over Richards Bay as Orbit College lost 2-0 to Orlando Pirates.

Magesi will now face Motsepe Championship sides Cape Town City and Milford FC to save their top-flight status.

Speaking ahead of their first play-off clash with the Citizens on Saturday, an upbeat Freese said his team have the confidence to record a positive result.

"We've given ourselves another opportunity to stay in the league," he said in the Sowetan.

"We will give it our best. I must be confident to go there and win. Nobody else will give me confidence. I must be confident and put that confidence into the players to say ‘we can do it'. It's another challenge against different teams from a different league."

"I didn't really focus on the teams we will face in the play-offs until we knew we were going to play the play-offs, but there were people within the club who were working on analysing them," added Freese.
