Australia summon Steve Smith to T20 World Cup as Mitch Marsh goes down injured
Australia have called up Steve Smith as cover at the T20 World Cup after captain Mitch Marsh went down injured before their opening clash against Ireland in Colombo.

Farhan anchored Pakistan's innings with an impressive 73 off 41 balls, striking five sixes and six fours to guide his side to 190-9 - their highest T20 World Cup total since 2016. He shared key partnerships with Saim Ayub and Babar Azam to lay the platform for a match-winning score.
Pakistan raced to 54 inside five overs through Farhan and Ayub before Shadley van Schalkwyk struck twice, removing Ayub for 19 and captain Salman Agha soon after. Farhan then combined with Babar for an 81-run third-wicket stand that wrestled momentum back in Pakistan's favour. Babar contributed 46 from 32 balls, while Farhan also reached 1,000 T20 international runs during his knock.
Shadab Khan added late acceleration with a rapid 30 off 12 deliveries, although Pakistan lost five wickets for 13 runs in the final two overs. Van Schalkwyk was the USA's standout bowler with figures of 4-25.
The United States began their chase brightly, with opener Shayan Jahangir scoring 49 from 34 balls and Shubham Ranjane hitting a defiant 51 despite carrying an injury. Their efforts helped the USA reach 123-3 and briefly threaten Pakistan's control.
However, Pakistan's spinners proved decisive. Usman Tariq claimed 3-27 while Shadab added 2-26 as the spin attack tightened the scoring and triggered a middle-order collapse. Milind Kumar's 29 offered some resistance, but the USA fell short on 158-8.
The win gives Pakistan two victories from two matches and lifts them to the top of Group A ahead of a highly anticipated clash against India.
