Chasing a revised target of 128, Rassie van der Dussen top-scored with 35 off 24 balls but the innings was given great impetus by Nicholas Pooran, who struck 33 off just 15 balls while Jason Smith hit 22 off seven deliveries.
Pooran and Smith hit eight sixes between them with the West Indian starting the onslaught with five maximums.
Smith then came and showed why the Proteas selectors had faith in him for the upcoming T20 World Cup by clearing the boundary three times.
