Selepe looking to grab opportunities after first Orlando Pirates start

The 21-year-old impressed in the second leg MTN8 semi-final victory over Babina Noko while playing alongside Mthetheleli Mthiyane and Thapelo Mokobodi in midfield.

"I think my starting for today [on Saturday], bows down to the technical coaches putting belief between all of us as players," said Selepe to the club's media.

"Since the season started, I have been pushing myself till now, so it was important for me to grab the opportunity that I was granted. It was really important for me to grab that opportunity, because as you know there is quite a few of us in that position.

"So, when I get an opportunity, I have to grab and hold on to it. It's never an easy game playing against Sekhukhune. We beat them twice and they also said we cannot allow them to beat us for the third time."

Selepe did not feature much during the 2025/26 treble winning campaign under Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, featuring in just the last two games of the season. 

He will be looking to reclaim the form that saw Hugo Broos hand him two appearances for Bafana Bafana despite playing just a handful of matches for the Soweto giants.
