South Africa beat Pakistan to continue winning streak at ICC Women's World Cup

After the game was reduced 40-overs per-side, the Proteas came out guns blazing with captain Laura Wolvaardt and Sune Luus leading from front before Marizanne Kapp and Nadine de Klerk provided a blistering finish to post total of 312-9.

After losing the early wicket of Tazmin Brits, Wolvaardt and Luus added a 118-run partnership with the skipper scoring 90 while Luus contributed a sparkling 61.

While they lost a few wickets in the middle overs, Kapp steadied the innings before accelerating to be unbeaten on 68 off 43 balls while De Klerk powered four sixes in a brutal knock of 41 from just 16 deliveries.

Another rain delay meant Pakistan's run-chase was curtailed to 20 overs and they were tasked with getting an almost impossible target of 234.

Kapp then starred with the ball, breaking the back of the opposition line-up with figures of 3-20 off five overs.

With rain in the air, the Proteas turned to their spinners to get in the minimum amount of overs required to constitute a result, which was 20.

Nondumiso Shangase took 2-19 in four overs as the Proteas rushed to complete the overs and make sure of victory as Pakistan eventually ended on 83-7.
