Sri Lanka tune up for Asia Cup with T20Is series victory in Zimbabwe

Chasing a target of 192, the visitors made light work of the score as Kamil Mishara hit an unbeaten 73 from 43 balls while Kusal Perera struck 46 not out off 26 deliveries to win with more than two overs to spare.

Sri Lanka were give a solid start with the bat when opening pair Pathum Nissanka (33)and Kusal Mendis (30) put on 58 inside the powerplay before Mishara and Perera finished the encounter.

The home team had earlier thought they had posted a solid total to reach 191-8 in their 20 overs after Sri Lanka had won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Opener Tadiwanashe Marumani struck 51 for the home side while their contributions down the order from captain Sikandar Raza (28), Ryan Burl (26) and Sean Williams (23).

Dushan Hemantha was the best bowler on show as the spinner finished with figures of 3-38 while seamer Dushmantha Chameera took 2-33.

Sri Lanka will now start preparations for the Asia Cup with their opening game against Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.
