Yeremy Pino shines as Crystal Palace celebrate historic European win

The match, played in Lubin, Poland, underlined why the Eagles are among the pre-tournament favourites.

Oliver Glasner's side controlled proceedings throughout, with Daniel Munoz heading home the opener just after the half-hour mark before Eddie Nketiah added a second on 58 minutes.

Dynamo's hopes of a comeback faded when Borna Sosa was sent off for a second booking, leaving the Ukrainian side with ten men.

The spotlight, however, fell on Pino. Signed from Villarreal in a deal worth around twenty-one and a half million pounds plus add-ons, the Spanish winger delivered a moment of brilliance for Palace's second goal. His quick footwork and burst into the penalty area set up Nketiah for a simple finish.

Manager Glasner was full of admiration for the 22-year-old afterwards. "He was very good," the Austrian said. "He worked so hard. In the last games he didn't get the reward, but he's such a great guy, he always keeps going and he gets more and more used to the way we are playing.

"The assist for the second goal was too quick for my eyes, I'll need to watch it back on TV. It was a fantastic assist and a very good performance."

Glasner, who has now led Palace to a club-record 19-game unbeaten run, also welcomed the news of Jean-Philippe Mateta's first international call-up for France.

"It's fully deserved," he said. "We got the information just before we left for the stadium. I'm delighted for him. He worked so hard, and I know he wanted this.

"We spoke about it in Austria at the training camp, so I'm really pleased for him."

The result gave Palace the perfect start to their European adventure and highlighted the impact of their summer signings.
